Lemon Thyme Iced Tea

Iced+Tea+Recipe+for+Immune+Support

Here’s a herbal and citrus-infused ice tea that is refreshing, yet earthy with its hint of thyme. I like how it seems like a perfect blend of summer and the upcoming fall flavors. Thyme is packed with Vitamin C and A! Making it a great herb to add to your diet, supporting your immune system.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Black Tea Bags

  • 2 Lemons (1 for making the tea, and the second for garnishing)

  • 32 oz of water (16 oz for boiling and 16 oz cool)

  • Pitcher

  • 4-6 sprigs of thyme

To Make:

  • Bring 16 oz of water to boil. If you have a hot pot that controls the temp try it at 194 degrees. It may help the black tea not get a bitter edge on it.

  • Place four black iced tea bags in a pitcher.

  • Add in 4-6 sprigs of thyme and four slices of lemon.

  • Steep for 5 minutes.

  • Try not to squeeze your teabags while removing them. We're aiming for as little bitterness as possible!

  • If you want just a hint of thyme and lemon, take them out of the water at this point. If you want a stronger flavor keep them in for a little longer.

  • Add 16oz of cold water and stir together.

  • Cool at room temperature and then remove your thyme and lemon.

  • You can serve right on ice or keep it in your refrigerator.

  • My philosophy for 2020 is to add in tiny things that sprinkle joy on the ordinary. So... have some fun adding lemon twist to your cup as well as a sprig of thyme. My other 2020 philosophy is that if it seems more joyful NOT to add extra work to your day, then don’t! Skip the garnish and simply enjoy over ice!

These tamper proof bottles were so fun to use for an event I had the other weekend! You can find them here!
