Sage and Apple Infused Rooibos Tea
Sage’s minty green leaves have been tempting me all summer as they grow in my herb garden. But I hadn’t cooked with them because their earthy flavor seemed a little too rich for summer’s bright flavors. September hit Colorado with a crazy snow storm but then peaked r’s savory flavors.
Ingredients:
5 Rooibos Tea Bags Shop Here
1 Apple. I used a Honeycrisp apple because I thought it’s texture would hold up against the hot water. Choose whichever type you prefer!
4-5 Sage Leaves
32 Ounces Hot Water
Directions:
Core and cut your apple into quarters
Slice your sage leaves in half. The smell may distract you for a few minutes!
Place your apples, sage leaves, and 5 tea bags into your pitcher
Pour boiling water over and let this steep for 3 minutes.
After 3 minutes, remove the tea bags but keep the apple and sage in.
Let this mixture sit until it reaches room temperature.
Pour over ice and enjoy!
